Month Goals Planner – April Motivation

Part of my New Years resolution this year is purely to keep myself motivated. I’ve been finding this easiest by laying out a few things I want to get done through out the month and getting into habits before that month begins.

This morning I wrote out my Monthly plan/goals and got a head start on some habits like my yoga.

Here are some of my plans/goals for the month:

Get passport FINISHED!

I’m planning on moving to the UK in July so need to organise my passport. I had started the process but didn’t have my current passport with me at the time only to realise when I got home it is in a box in my parents shed! I’ll go down there on Wednesday (my mid week break,) and make a start on my application while I’m there so I can get some washing done too. Once my passport arrives I can book my flights, so hopefully that will be on my list of things to do next month!

Bring on duel citizenship!

Be at work EVERYDAY!

Early this month I fell into a bad stint of depression so took about 5 days off work. In my postition I am eligible for commission based on a few targets but those targets still apply if we have sick days which put me very behind for the month. This month I plan to be at work everyday to keep myself motivated and hopefully get some more commision for my upcoming move!

Do yoga AT LEAST 4 x per week!

About a year ago I started attempting to do yoga for 10 minutes everyday. I did really well and soon bumped up my time to 20 minutes 6 days a week. Since moving I have less space and have had a hard time being motivated to do my yoga. I have assigned myself 15minutes of yoga at least 4 x per week – making it easy to schedule in before work each day. I have made a start on this today to get myself into the rhythm. I just use YouTube for my yoga practice. Yoga By Candace is my favourite, I find her flows interesting and easy to work with your current skill levels. Plus there’s a variety to choose from based on what you’re looking for.

Bring food to work EVERYDAY!

Usually I’m pretty good at this but lately I’ve been getting into the habit of picking up a ham and cheese croissant and a coffee at 7eleven before work and usually a packet of chips and some chocolate to get me through the day. I need to get rid of this habit before I spend too much money on useless food each week. This morning I started by packing myself a a ham and cheese sandwich to toast at work!

Add earrings to CAKEANDLOVED!

Some of you may already know that I started my Etsy store Cake and Loved Clothing at the start of March – it hasn’t made any sales yet but I will persist. For April I would like to start adding the hand painted tassled earrings I have been making to the store. I think they will bring a good pop of colour to the store and adding some accessories brings another market of people on Etsy through my store too!

Write blog posts EVERY WEEK!

I have actually started this already and have seen a good difference in my stats over the weeks. More people coming to my page, liking and leaving comments. I have always heard its good to post frequently on many social media platforms to get a following but didn’t realise it would work so quickly! On top of this I am finding I have more to say, my writing is improving and its a good way of getting those repetitive thoughts out of my head. I feel productive keeping this blog running even if I don’t get any “attention” from it.

I legitimately have a note in my phone with each of these sub headings to make sure they stay fresh in my mind. I’m a sucker for lists so am forever checking out my notepad when I’m bored or lost of inspiration so having this note will hoepfully empower me to get things done and stay motivated!

How do you keep yourself motivated?

My new Etsy store! @cakeandlovedclothing

So I officially started my Etsy store “Cake and Loved Clothing,” at the start of March. This is something i have been wanting to do for some time so when it came to mid Feb this year I said to myself, YOU WILL OPEN YOUR ETSY STORE ON THE 1ST OF MARCH!

Naturally I’ve had some set backs, particularly dropping my phone in the toilet which it thankfully survived but my front camera hasn’t been working properly since and is the only option I have for a camera at the moment! Regardless, I had one piece completely ready to go, so added my first listing at 11.50pm on the 1st of March.

A small victory but a victory none the less!

(Shop the Katie Preloved Floral Detail Shirt here)

My second piece was added the following week using my selfie camera and some photos I had taken before the toilet incident.

(Shop the Valerie 90s Preloved Velvet Tank Top here)

So with the help of my friends and their phones I will be slowly adding listings each week… (where possible)

At the moment I am just adding preloved clothing. Soon I will be adding in some hand made pieces made from fabric I have sourced (collected over the years and never used) then once my supplies run out I would like to move on to handmade pieces made from recycled fabrics along with some preloved and revamped (recaked) goodies. Creating a recycled vision for my little business, something I hold with upmost importance!

Many resources go into clothing manufacturing. When you throw away your clothes, they sit in the landfills. Not to mention manufacturing also requires huge energy resources. Recycling second hand clothing and repurposing fabric means that less raw materials are needed, less energy is used and less pollution is generated.

(You can read more about the importance of recycling clothing and fabrics here)

There are links to each piece shown here above and you can also find my Etsy store (here) you can also visit Instagram for updates @cakeandlovedclothing

I would love to hear your feedback 🙂

Hello 2018. Wait, it’s March.

Pants: Universal Store

Top: Preloved

Shoes: Dr. Martens

I brought in the near year with friends. We had some drinks and headed to a local park to hang out and listen to some tunes. I was so comfy in these pants. They are super flatteing but were also perfect for lounging on the grass!

I’ve been a bit up and down with my mental health so far this month but had put the expectation on myself yo get my Etsy store up and running for the start of March. I celebrated my minor victory at 11:50pm on the 1st of March, adding my first listing to my new Etsy!

(Shop the Katie Preloved Floral Detail Shirt here)

Considering my set back I have decided to allow myself the month to get some more preloved clothing up and then hopefully get some handmade goods up soon!

On top of this I have made the decision to move to London in July to make it easier to travel some or Europe! I can get a British passport which will make things easy living and working on London and hopefully getting some good trips into Europe done to pick up more preloved goods!

Honestly if you live in the UK or really anywhere in Europe let me know, I would love to hear about some cool new places to see and super excited to meet some new people along the way!

Here’s to making a start to another of my yearly goals, blog posting more!

Wish me luck!

OOTD – Typical Melbourne Winter

Ya know when you just get up on the wrong side the bed? Eyeliner dont go on right. Miss your train. Its winter, anyside the bed is the wrong side in my opinion.

Add in a run of arse hole customers and you’ve got some messy looking angry Cake running down the street in Melbourne’s downpour rain with eyeliner down her face.

Only to travel home to the mountains to find my internet is not working. So after i took some quick snaps from the comfort of my bedroom before climbing back into bed and watching forest gump until i woke up to… still no internet.

So heres my first OOTD post from my phone. (Dont judge me im new)

On the bright side, i didn’t even know it was going to rain today but managed to pick a pretty appropriate outfit.

My mum has lent me this trench coat she bought in the 80s in london. I wrapped myself up and angrily marched down towards Melbourne Central Station.

Can’t beat a simple midi skirt with slits for a fast pace angry walk.
Had been eager to wear my mums coat with my Adidas Superstars, they were perfect for stomping through the huge puddles forming in the middle of the roads. Perfect day for leather shoes.

Thats all for now, bedtime.
